Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has partnered with Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) to raise awareness of breast cancer during October to mark International Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Conducted under PHCC’s National Breast and Bowel Screening Programme, the workshop is the first of its kind for the banking industry in Qatar by increasing levels of knowledge and stressing the importance of early screening.
The workshop was organised by Commercial Bank’s Human Capital, Employee Welfare and Relations Department which provides guidance services to employees, and was part of a series of awareness presentations and activities by PHCC’s National Breast and Bowel Screening Programme that spanned the full month of October.
Dr Sheikha Abu Sheikha Cancer Programme Manager at PHCC said: "The National Breast and Bowel Screening Programme is a life-saving, population-based initiative that aims to promote education, awareness and early detection of breast and bowel cancer in Qatar through partnership with both public and private sectors."
