Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, is pleased to announce that “Young Bankers” have successfully completed the fourth annual Summer Internship Programme, with an awards ceremony held at Commercial Bank Plaza attended by their parents and Commercial Bank senior management, in a warm and fun-like atmosphere.
Commercial Bank received over 250 applications from customers via the Bank’s social media channels to enroll their children into the Internship Programme.
The Internship Programme is designed for students aged 13 to 17 who are the children of Commercial Bank customers, and is now in its fourth consecutive year. Titled: “Leading Change Via Digital Channels”, the rewarding two-month long Programme focused on the digital evolution taking place within the banking industry.
Following an induction and training session, the students were then placed within Commercial Bank’s 29 branch network and assigned the task of encouraging the use of digital banking channels available to Commercial Bank customers and explaining their benefits, all under the guidance and supervision of Commercial Bank staff.
As well as learning communication skills by working in the customer-facing environment of Commercial Bank branches, the students also gained technical knowledge and an understanding of Commercial Bank’s market-leading digital channels such as Mobile Banking, and Internet Banking, as well as the latest market innovations including the “Young Elite Savers Club” that provides benefits, discounts and interest-earning savings for minors and Commercial Bank’s ‘’e-Gift” feature that enables customers to electronically send a cash gift to their children, friends and family, and is designed to deliver the joy of giving and receiving gifts, with the recipient receiving a personalised message.
Commercial Bank Group CEO, Joseph Abraham, said: “The ‘Young Bankers’ Summer Internship Programme is a special CSR event in the summer calendar for Commercial Bank as we have the privilege of working with young people and helping them on their journey towards becoming tomorrow’s business leaders, entrepreneurs and professionals.
