Commercial Bank holds blood donation campaign with HMC

Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, recently organised a one-day blood donation drive for the Bank’s employees in cooperation with the blood donation centre at Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) based on its leading role in the activation of community partnerships and enhancing Qatar’s blood supply. Commercial Bank employees across all departments volunteered to be blood donors at a mobile blood donation centre in Commercial Bank Plaza.

 

Managed by HMC’s Blood Donation Unit, staff were carefully pre-screened to meet strict criteria in accordance with international blood donating standards and were monitored afterwards to ensure their safety. Commercial Bank staff were also provided with educational brochures and leaflets about the importance of donating blood and its critical role in saving lives.

This blood donation campaign will make a real difference to our community by helping to maintain an adequate blood supply for the country and by encouraging others to give the life-saving gift of blood. Commercial Bank will continue our partnership with HMC  and organise more campaigns for our staff to raise awareness on the value that blood donation brings to our local community. This event coincides with HMC’s blood donation centre’s inauguration plans for World Blood Donor Day and its slogan: blood connects us all."
