Commercial Bank Honored With Prestigious Award From Qatar National Day Celebrations Organizing Committee

HE the Minister of Culture and Sports, Dr Salah bin Ghanem bin Nasser Al Ali, has honored Commercial Bank of Qatar with a prestigious award for being one of the most important golden sponsors of Qatar National Day 2018 celebrations, following the wonderful success of the for the Qatari heritage event, Al Ghais.
The award was received by Ashjan Al Khalaf, Director of CSR and Events at Commercial Bank, during a spectacular ceremony held at the open theatre in Darb Al Saai by the Qatar National Day celebrations’ organizing committee.
Commercial Bank’s sponsorship of this national festival is based on its commitment to corporate social responsibility. The Bank aims to establish positive cooperation and play an effective role in the interest of all segments of Qatari society by sponsoring major activities in various important fields.

The Al Ghais cultural event’s name comes from traditional diving missions in Qatar. Historically, diving was the most popular and widespread profession and the country relied on many capable divers who had the ability to extract pearls from the deep sea. It was one of the most important professions in the State of Qatar.
