Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s oldest and largest private sector bank, is pleased to announce that 100 children of Bank employees aged between seven to twelve have participated in a “Junior Staff Day.”
Taking place at Commercial Bank Plaza, Grand Hamad branch and Umm Lekhba branch, the junior staff engaged in various roles and responsibilities over the course of one day including creating Excel and Word documents, working as a receptionist, interfacing with customers, attending to customer calls and generally assisting Commercial Bank employees with their official tasks. Extracurricular activities included a general knowledge quiz and an IQ test. Each junior staff member was assigned to a manager for the day and received a certificate of participation.
The Junior Staff Day initiative is designed to be a memorable event for the children of Commercial Bank employees by giving them a first taste of real life work experience. The initiative also promotes employee engagement and strengthens the child / parent bond by showing children their parent’s workplace.
Sharoq Al Malki, Commercial Bank EGM & Chief Human Capital Officer said: “Commercial Bank’s Junior Staff Day is a meaningful and purposeful Commercial Bank initiative that benefits both the children and our staff. By engaging with young children and acquainting them with the work environment in a practical and educational way, we hope to provide the children with a valuable experience that helps them relate to what their parents do each workday and the working lives of professionals in the private sector.”
