Commercial Bank partners with Ministry of Education to help students better prepare to join the local workforce

Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has announced a unique Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative in partnership with the Ministry of Education and Higher Education to facilitate an assessment centre for secondary students. The assessment centre will highlight the strengths and areas of development of students enabling them to make the right academic decisions now for their future careers.
Commercial Bank in association with a professional assessment institution is targeting 100 Grade 10 students in Qatar from two public schools. The students will be assessed on their interests, skills and abilities by undergoing an online test followed by one-to-one meetings with qualified professionals to obtain feedback.
Commercial Bank Acting Head of Human Capital Hamad Salem Al Shekili said: “Commercial Bank invests heavily in developing human capital resources in line with the Qatar National Vision 2030, both in terms of our in-house employee training programmes and on a national-scale through the Bank’s educational CSR initiatives. To support Qatar’s human development, we developed this CSR initiative to work with students in a meaningful way to help them become tomorrow’s leaders. Our aim with this initiative is to provide greater exposure to various academic opportunities which will help students make informed decisions about their future career path.”
