Commercial Bank proud Platinum Sponsor of third “Entrepreneurship in Economic Development Forum”
28 February 2016
Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, is pleased to announce its participation as platinum sponsor of the third “Entrepreneurship in Economic Development Forum” hosted by Qatar University in cooperation with Interactive Business Network. Held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, the forum is an annual event being held for the third time from 7 to 8 March 2016, in the Sheraton Hotel, Doha.
The forum acts as a regional platform to promote the concept of entrepreneurship among Qatar’s youth, as entrepreneurship is generally recognised as a vital element for economic development and an engine for private sector growth and diversification. The forum will also propose an action plan for Gulf educational institutions to act as incubators for young entrepreneurs by implementing degree programmes to develop entrepreneurial skills.
The third Entrepreneurship in Economic Development Forum comes at a time when the role of the private sector in Gulf economies is growing in relevance and significance, and with it the need to encourage and promote the spirit and practice of entrepreneurship in the region whether in business life, or on the wider social and cultural sphere; particularly among the youth.
Commercial Bank is supporting the forum as platinum sponsor and will have a stand open to visitors over the two-day event.
Commercial Bank CEO Mr. Abdulla Saleh Al Raisi said: “Commercial Bank is pleased to sponsor this forum as an initiative that fosters Qatar’s national development in support of the Qatar National Vision 2030. By focusing on Qatar’s youth and encouraging the development of the private sector, the scope of this forum is strongly in line with Commercial Bank’s own commitments to both investing in Qatari youth through our National Development Programme, and achieving economic diversity and sustainability through Enterprise Banking, our dedicated business unit for SMEs and entrepreneurs.”
“I encourage all participants to visit the Commercial Bank stand during the upcoming forum in March,” Al Raisi added.
