Commercial Bank reaffirms commitment to participate in Qatar Career Fair 2013

01 April 2013

Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank is delighted to be returning to the annual Qatar Career Fair as part of its ongoing focus on the creation and development of career opportunities for Qatari youth. This strategy forms one of the foundations of Commercial Bank’s commitment to supporting Qatar’s transformation into a diversified and advanced knowledge-based economy, as laid out in the National Vision 2030.

Qatar Career Fair, now in its sixth year, offers education, employment, training and development opportunities across all major economic sectors in the state of Qatar, and plays a key role in bridging the gap between the Qatari education system and the wider world of work. The annual event is an important platform for Commercial Bank to engage with and speak directly to students, graduates and other prospective hires, and to introduce them to the many dynamic and exciting career paths that the Bank has to offer. Commercial Bank is also running an advertisement campaign in local newspapers to further support Qatar Career Fair initiatives.

This year Commercial Bank is looking to hire for the following programmes:

Qatari University undergraduates for Commercial Bank’s Sponsorship Programme
Qatari graduates for Commercial Bank’s Graduate Development Programme
Qatari school leavers for Commercial Bank’s Banking Associate Programme
Qatari experienced direct hires
Qatari High School Graduates for the new Commercial Bank Bachelors Programme

Commenting on the Bank’s commitment to participate in the 2013 Qatar Career Fair, Andrew Stevens, Commercial Bank’s Group Chief Executive Officer, said: “Commercial Bank places strong emphasis on providing young people with a range and depth of skills to adequately prepare them for working in the financial services sector, something which is closely aligned with our commitment to the ‘Human Development’ pillar of the Qatar 2030 vision. Our participation at the Qatar Career Fair is key to introducing prospective recruits to the strong training and development platforms that Commercial Bank offers, and the wealth of career opportunities which stem from these.”

He added: “In addition to the strength of our training programmes, Commercial Bank prides itself on its team-oriented environment and friendly, diverse atmosphere. We believe Commercial Bank is a great place for young Qataris to embark on a career in financial services, and can offer them the level of support and expertise needed to help them every step of the way.”

Qatar Career Fair 2013 is being held between the 1st and 6th April 2013 at the Qatar National Convention Centre, and is expected to attract over 40,000 visitors. It is organised by the Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Qatar Petroleum, the Amiri Diwan, Qatar University, and the Ministry of Labour.
