Commercial Bank sponsors Qatar Red Crescent Society's Ramadan Iftar Programme for three days

Doha, Qatar: Commercial Bank, Qatar’s first private bank, has sponsored Qatar Red Crescent Society’s (QRCS) Ramadan Iftar programme in Al Wakrah and Al Khor, and the distribution of Iftar meals to municipality workers in the industrial area, for a period of three days as part of the Bank’s community-focused CSR initiatives during the Holy Month of Ramadan.
QRCS’s Iftar programme in Al Khor and Al Wakrah serve Iftar meals in the largest tents of their type in Qatar to more than 750 fasting expatriate labourers every day, totaling 45,000 throughout the month of Ramadan. Commercial Bank representatives and expatriate workers shared an Iftar meal together on the first of the three days of the Bank’s sponsorship in Al Wakrah.
Commercial Bank CEO Mr. Abdulla Saleh Al Raisi said: “It is our pleasure to break fast with labourers who play such an important role in building Qatar. Commercial Bank has sponsored this Iftar programme as a gesture of solidarity and sharing in the spirit of Ramadan, as labourers are a valued part of our community and their hard work is appreciated. Commercial Bank has increased our sponsorship from one to three days to accommodate a larger number of labourers and we wish them all a blessed month of Ramadan.”
Fahad bin Mohammed Al Naimi, Director-General, QRCS thanked Commercial Bank for their financial support and stated that QRCS’s Iftar programme is an important community focal point during Ramadan that unites Muslim and non-Muslim, Arab and non-Arabs together in an act of solidarity, inviting the community at large, organisations and individuals to support such charitable activities that are beneficial to all in need of support inside and outside Qatar.
