01 October 2013

Doha, Qatar- Commercial Bank of Qatar, in partnership with the College of the North Atlantic Qatar (CNAQ), recently launched a unique new academic degree programme in International Finance, aimed at high-school graduates in Qatar.

The four-year Commercial Bank bachelor’s degree alternates university-based learning with placements across the Commercial Bank business, enabling high-school leavers to combine academic study with relevant and high-quality work experience in a leading financial institution with strong international links.

“At CNAQ, we fully appreciate the importance of maintaining smart, well-informed, highly competent and ethical finance experts in Qatar’s future,” stated Michael Jaywant, Executive Director, Centre for Banking, CNAQ. “This partnership with Commercial Bank is an ideal way to bring the right expertise home, and follows naturally from our existing partnership for a BA in Management and Banking.”

The new International Finance degree is an excellent platform for the most motivated Qatari high school graduates to structure and accelerate their careers, becoming familiar with work and leadership opportunities within CBQ whilst receiving dedicated support in the form of mentoring, technical training, team-building, and communication-skills enhancement as well as guidance towards the valuable BA awarded by the partnering UK university at the end of the programme.

“With this new bachelor’s degree in International Finance, we are maintaining our focus on Qatari development in line with the 2030 Vision,” affirmed Mr Abdulla Saleh al-Raisi, CEO of CBQ. “By providing this unique offering with its combination of education and experience we are also cementing Commercial Bank’s reputation for offering pioneering, high-quality programmes.”
