Qatar Trade Summit opens today, to explore business opportunities

The two-day Qatar Trade Summit that opens in Doha Tuesday will open doors to a plethora of opportunities the country has to offer in terms of international trade, logistical capabilities and long-term investment prospects, the organisers said Monday.
This year’s summit will focus on exploring the complete global trade ecosystem in relevance to Qatar and the region.
Qatar’s economy has recovered consistently and is currently unmatched in the region. Despite the global pandemic Qatar’s economic growth looks bright and is expected to grow at a faster pace over the next decade.
The surge can be attributed to Qatar’s resilience and focus on improving international trade, increased activity of the free zones and facilitating state of the art commercial infrastructure. The 3rd edition of the premium Qatar Trade Summit 2021 event will be unveiled in the hybrid format this year.
The event that will be held at the Intercontinental Doha The City will host global thought leaders, industry stakeholders and experts from the field of sea ports, air cargo, supply chain, trade finance, technology and logistics, said Narendra Kumar, managing director, Nispana Global.
More than 30 experts representing the government and leading international and regional organisations will deliver keynote presentations, case studies and participate in the panel discussion on diverse topics that focus on the future on trade economy in the region.
Qatar Tourism is the host sponsor, while the gold sponsors are Commercial Bank, QTerminals, Oracle and DHL.
The associate sponsors are Game, a Qatar-based technology company, Hutchinson Ports Sohar, Qatar-Ukraine Business Forum and Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The press conference held at Intercontinental Doha The City was attended by Saif al-Kuwari, assistant director of NPCS (Ministry of Commerce and Industry); Nadeem M Mian, managing director QTerminals; Hussain al-Abdulla, Commercial Bank EGM and chief marketing officer, and Maha Abu Hijleh, country manager, DHL Global Forwarding.
