Ways to activate your card
Pick the channel that suits you — every method below activates your new Debit or Credit Card.
Activate by SMS
A single text message activates your card instantly.
Activate through Phone
Activate via the Telephone Banking Service.
- Call 4449 0000
- Select your preferred language
- Enter your Account Number or Qatari ID Number when prompted.
- Select option 2 for General/Other Services
- Authenticate yourself using voice biometrics or your card’s last 6 digits and OTP.
- Upon successful authentication, you will be automatically prompted to activate your Credit Card/Debit Card.
Activate via Commercial Bank’s ATMs
Setting a PIN at an ATM also activates your card automatically.
- Insert your Debit Card/Credit Card and select Reset/Generate New PIN.
- Enter QID or full Account Number.
- Enter your mobile number registered with us to receive OTP.
- Enter the OTP.
- Set your new PIN and repeat as per prompt.
- PIN is successfully set, and your card will also automatically be activated.
Create or change your PIN
Once your Debit or Credit Card is activated, set or change your PIN through any of the channels below.
Set & Generate Card PIN 2 Channels
Choose whichever is most convenient for you.
- Insert the card in the Bank’s ATM and select the option to Reset/Generate New PIN.
- Follow the on-screen prompts to enter your QID or full Account Number, registered mobile number and OTP, then set your PIN.
- Login using your username and password.
- Select Services, then Debit Card Services or Credit Card Services.
- Select Create PIN.
Block your card
Block a card temporarily or permanently from CBQ Mobile App or Internet Banking.
Lost or stolen card
If your card is lost or stolen, immediately block it permanently and order a replacement. You can block and replace your card in multiple convenient ways.
CBQ Mobile App or Internet Banking Digital
Block the affected card, then request a replacement.
- Login to CBQ Mobile App or Internet Banking.
- Select the “Services” tab.
- Under menu, click on the “Debit Card Services” or “Credit Card Services”.
- Choose the appropriate card to be blocked.
- Select the “Block Card” option and select the option “Permanent” to block your card permanently.
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to block your card.
- Your card will be blocked successfully.
- Login to CBQ Mobile App or Internet Banking.
- Select the “Services” tab.
- Under menu, click on the “Debit Card Services” or “Credit Card Services”.
- Click on “Replace”.
- Enter the OTP sent to your registered mobile number to replace your card.
- Your card will be replaced successfully. You will receive a notification on how to print the card by the next working day.
- Call our dedicated fraud reporting hotline number at 44495095.
- Select your preferred language (English / Arabic).
- Listen to the IVR prompt and select “option 2” to block your card.
- The IVR will allow you to temporarily block a selected card or all your cards instantly.
- The call will be connected to an agent who can assist with replacing your cards.
Card captured in an ATM
If your Commercial Bank card is captured in any CB ATM, follow the steps below to retrieve it.
- You will receive an SMS notification with details of the CB location where your captured card will be available for collection within 2–3 working days.
- Once you receive the notification, you may book an appointment to visit this CB location and collect your card.
- Alternatively, you may proceed to block the captured card and request a replacement via our digital channels.
